Comparison of Voice-Related Quality of Life for the Elderly with and without Voice Disorders According to Genders by Aging Voice Index-Korean Version

Objectives: The present study was performed to investigate the effect of voice problems on related quality life in elderly with, without disorders, according genders by using Aging Voice Index-Korean version (AVI-KR).Methods: AVI-KR, a translated original Index (AVI) into Korean and verified for reliability validity, implemented with 50 people disorders (normal group) 76 (patient group). Statistical difference group patient gender (male female) were analyzed 2-way ANOVA.Results: mean total score AVI-KR normal significantly higher than that group. All participants showed under 11.00, cut-off but 17.1% appeared score. female scores male group, not significant. Also, groups did show statistical significance.Conclusion: voice-related significant presence/absence pathological vocal fold status, due aging cause life. Even status guarantee bad influence Therefore, assessment people’s should be carried out only an examiner or expert-centered objective tools; also patient-centered ones, including self-reporting questionnaires evaluation tools specialized elderly, developed continuously.
